What this patch fixes

  • All sound is back: engine noise, sound effects and voices were missing, and the patch puts them in place.
  • Smooth racing: the race no longer stutters, even if your PC has been on for a long time.
  • Proper full screen: no more Windows title bar covering the top of the screen, so the OK, Back and Cancel buttons at the bottom of the menu are visible again.
  • Sharper picture: a new game starts in 1024x768 instead of 640x480. You can pick anything from 640x480 up to 1280x1024 under Options > Graphics.
  • The Internet button no longer quits the game to open a website that has been gone for years.
  • Intro movies: if your copy of the game doesn't have them, the installer can copy the Davilex logo and the English intro from your original CD.

The game itself is not included in this patch: you need your own copy.

Installation

  1. Unzip this folder (USRacer-Patch) into the US Racer folder, or next to it.
  2. Double-click Install.bat. If the game folder is not found, you are asked to select it.
  3. Start the game with USARacer.exe.

You do not need to run the game's own setup.bat: the installer unpacks myth.pak itself (with the MP3 decoder built into Windows). myth.pak is left in place.
